The one upside to inches and inches of snow this time of the year? Great skiing, of course. That's why we're happy to report that there's finally an affordable solution to get to the ski slopes of New York State: a comfortable bus ride that starts from just $89 roundtrip.

Whether you're heading to the Catskills or the Berkshires, renting a car is usually the only option from the city -- which unfortunately tacks on a couple of hundred dollars for gas as well as the rental itself (something that those visiting NYC absolutely don't need in the city to begin with). The I Love New York Ski Bus, on the other hand, is running on select days now through March for easy and economical day trips to those winter hotspots. There are three pick-up locations: one in Manhattan at 44th Street and Third Avenue; and two in Long Island, in Calverton at 253 Edwards Avenue and in Huntington/Melville (Long Island Expressway Exit #49 Park and Ride).

The bus fare itself includes lift tickets, and, as on all Hampton Jitney-operated trips, passengers are treated to snacks and beverages during the ride. Here's an example of what's on offer: On February 28, both Plattekill Mountain and Belleayre Mountain in the Catskills are offering $99 per person ride and lift packages. There's also an option to tack on lessons and rentals for $124. Ready to get your ski on?
