Fiji Reopens Borders This Month

After nearly two years of border closures, the island of Fiji is open for visitors. The government announced the reopening as Fiji reached an 80 percent vaccination goal. Those who wish to travel to the islands will need to be fully vaccinated and provide a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to departure from their home country. In addition, visitors will be required to take a rapid test 48 hours after arriving at a resort. Unvaccinated children under the age of 18 will be able to travel to Fiji accompanied by a vaccinated adult.

Margaritaville's First Cruise Line

Margaritaville has teamed up with Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line to debut Margaritaville at Sea. The company's first ship, which is aptly named Margaritaville Paradise, will make its maiden voyage from Florida to Grand Bahama Island in April 2022. While the ship is not new (it was formerly known as Grand Classica, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines' flagship vessel), it has since undergone an extensive renovation. There are ten decks and 658 cabins total. There will be a handful of food and beverage options, including the famous 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar, as well as an array of onboard activities and entertainment, including the St. Somewhere Spa and Fins Up! Fitness Center. Expect lots of beachy-chic and nautical-inspired decor, too.

Singapore Airlines Returns to NYC

After a two-year pandemic absence, Singapore Airlines has announced the return of its Airbus A380 Superjumbo – the world's largest passenger aircraft. The A380 will fly from JFK to Frankfurt with service to Singapore. Even more exciting is that the aircraft is debuting its new and luxurious first-class suites that offer semi-private cabins that offer a bed, chair, evening turndown service, and privacy doors. Amenities include Dom Perignon (or Krug), meals served on Wedgewood china, and products from Lalique. In addition to the six suites, the A380 offers 78 Business Class seats, 44 Premium Economy Class seats, and 343 Economy Class seats.

Aman Announces the Luxury Project Sama

Luxury hotel brand Aman has announced the debut of Project Sama. The 50-suite yacht will be constructed in partnership with Cruise Saudi. Onboard amenities will include an all-day restaurant, several international eateries, and a club and lounge. Meanwhile, the spa will be nothing short of show-stopping with its own Japanese garden. There are also two helipads, not to mention a "beach club" at the yacht's stern, offering cruisers direct ocean access. The 600-foot luxury vessel is slated to set sail in 2025.

Club Med to Debut New US Resort

All-inclusive hotel company Club Med recently announced its plans to open a brand-new ski resort in Snowbasin, Utah (about 35 miles outside of Salt Lake City). Club Med Utah, which is set to open in December 2024, will be the company's first new US resort in over 20 years. It's also the brand's first and only five-star resort in the country.
